Step on step : BCN FES XAU 19-20: International Laboratory of Collaborative ArchitectureBarreda, Xavier; Tous, Victoria; Martin, AndreaSince 2017 the NGO Al Karia and the cooperative entity Base A, supported by the town council of L’Hospitalet and the Centre de Cooperació per al Desenvolupament (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya), are collaborating with the town of Chaouen. From 2018 onwards the collaboration gets the shape of a workshop: the Step on Step laboratory, organized by Escola Tècnica Superior d´Arquitectura de Barcelona ETSAB. In two batches, 2018 and 2019, a total amount of 53 students, 5 teachers and 2 assistants, from Morocco and from Spain, have been working on the Medina (old town) of Chefchauen. This document compiles the outco me of the summer 2019 workshop.- Step on step : BCN TTN XAU 18-19 : Laboratory International of Collaborative ArchitectureTous, Victoria; Barreda, XavierIn March 2018 ETSAB-UPC offered its teachers in Architecture the opportunity to participate in a cooperative workshop in Morocco. The NGO Alkaria and the association Base-A were the organizers and promoters of the workshop and those who had local contacts in order to make the experience possible. The only way to ensure that a workshop with students is successful for all parties involved is to prepare and foresee all aspects that encompass work with cooperation and development. For that reason during March 2018 three selected teachers together with Alkaria NGO and Base-A Association went to Morocco in order to visit the different cities and local agents that could be part of the project and to define the activities to be developed. We visited the cities of Tanger, Tétouan, and ChefChaouen. And we talked with the mayor and different technicians from the municipality of Chefchaouen. The summer workshop dates were also set to be from July 9 to 18, 2018.
