The system is driven by high-temperature parabolic trough collectors (PTC) coupled with innovative solid-state thermal energy storage (TES). Heat is supplied to an Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) – Ejector cooling cycle (ECC) through a heat transfer fluid (HTF). The ORC-ECC is capable of the following operating modes: 1) electricity-only, 2) combined heat and power (CHP) and 3) cooling. The system energy production and consumer demand were considered for the conceptual design and preliminary definition of the operating strategies of the ORC-ECC. The final design of the ORC-ECC system is based on the use of R1233zd(E) as a working fluid, operating at a maximum temperature of 140℃.Libro digitalpp. 689-700Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0)Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0)http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/TES4TRIG: DEVELOPMENT OF A DEMONSTRATOR FOR THE PRODUCTION OF ELECTRICITY, HEATING AND COOLING BASED ON AN ORGANIC RANKINE CYCLE AND AN EJECTOR COOLING CYCLE DRIVEN BY HIGH-TEMPERATURE PARABOLIC TROUGH COLLECTORS WITH THERMAL ENERGY STORAGEopenAccess
