15th International Meeting on Thermodiffusion: Book of abstractsautores, VariosThe International Meeting on Thermodiffusion provides a unique opportunity for sharing ideas about theoretical, experimental and numerical results on diffusion- and thermodiffusion related research. The successful series of IMT meetings aims to provide a forum for discussion, face-to-face interaction between scientists and technologists, and a mechanism for developing new collaborations. The IMT15 is aimed to discuss the latest results on transport properties in multicomponent fluids: innovative theoretical approaches, new experimental results and techniques as well as state of the art numerical methods. The most fundamental aspect of the conference will be the discussion amongst scientists, the sharing of ideas and creating new and reinforced existing collaborations.- 1a Jornada en Recerca en Enologia i Viticultura a Catalunyaautores, VariosL'objectiu principal d'aquest llibre és fer conèixer i difondre la recerca que es fa a Catalunya en Enologia i Viticultura i aspectes relacionats que s'han presentat en unes Jornades a Tarragona. En repassar les bases de dades de publicacions científiques dels darrers anys, hem pogut constatar que al país hi ha uns 20 grups d'investigadors que tenen com a línies de recerca principals les relacionades amb les ciències de la vinya i el vi, però a més a més hi ha uns altres 40 grups o investigadors que encara que el seu àmbit principal de recerca no sigui la viticultura o l’enologia, han publicat aquests darrers anys diversos treballs relacionats en diferents aspectes, fins i tot de disciplines científiques aparentment allunyades. Tots ells han estat convidats a la Jornada per presentar els seus treballs més innovadors o les línies de recerca.

- 2a Jornada de Recerca en Enologia i Viticultura a Catalunyaautores, VariosTots els investigadors de Catalunya relacionats amb l'àmbit de l'enologia i la viticultura, des d'un punt de vista molt ample, han estat convidats a la Jornada per presentar els seus treballs en forma de pòsters. La multiplicitat d'àmbits de coneixement que tenen que veure directament o indirectament amb el vi i la vinya queda reflectida amb aquesta recerca de qualitat que s hi fa, i amb això veiem treballs de temes tan diversos que inclouen fins i tot l'arqueologia, l'economia o la salut humana.
- 2nd Iberian Meeting on Aerosol Science and Technology: Proceedings Book RICTA 2014autores, VariosThis Proceedings Book collects the conference articles and abstracts presented at RICTA 2014, the 2nd Iberian Meeting on Aerosol Science and Technology (also named Reunión Ibérica de Ciencia y Tecnología de los Aerosoles), held during July 7-9, 2014, in Tarragona, Spain. RICTA 2014 is the second Portuguese-Spanish meeting on Aerosol Science and Technology. Like the previous RICTA congress held in 2013 in Évora, Portugal, RICTA 2014 is the continuation of the successful RECTA, Reunión Española de Ciencia y Tecnología de Aerosoles, conferences, which have been held in Spain since 2007. RICTA 2014 has been organized by the Droplets, intErfaces, and floWs (DEW) Research Laboratory of the Universitat Rovira i Virgili, with the collaboration of the Asociación Española de Ciencia y Tecnología de los Aerosoles (AECyTA). The congress was held at the Campus Catalunya of the Universitat Rovira i Virgili. As in previous editions of RICTA and RECTA, the participation of young researchers has been encouraged, with the organization of the 5th Summer School on Aerosol Science and Technology, as well as awards for the best poster and PhD thesis. This book comprises three parts: the Conference Program, the Conference Articles, and the Conference Abstracts.

- Book of abstracts XXXII Conference Expert Group Meeting on Organometallic Chemistryautores, VariosThe first meeting dedicated to the organometallic chemistry in Spain took place during the eighties, when 40 scientists from our country shared their experiences around this genuine discipline. The first GEQO meeting was held in Alcalá de Henares on June 12, 1981. It was decided to continue with this adventure, and only one year later they met again at the Bienal of Chemistry in Santander, in September 1982. Then, in 1983 it was Tarragona s turn to takeover, and convert this Meeting into an exciting experience. Three decades later, and casually during the meeting of the Spanish organometallic group in the Bienal of Santander 2013, we announced that the next GEQO-meeting will take place in Tarragona, between September 17-19, 2014. Despite the changes in the host city and its people, one thing still remains the same: the enthusiasm with which this event is being organized and its projection to everyone who sees in organometallic chemistry a way of thinking in chemistry.
- Congrés Internacional 80 aniversari de la Guerra Civil Espanyola: Comunicacionsautores, VariosEn Noviembre de 2016, con motivo del 80 Aniversario del inicio de la Guerra Civil, el Centro de Estudios sobre Conflictos Sociales (CECOS) de la Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV) de Tarragona, organizó un congreso científico y académico de alcance Internacional para analizar dicho conflicto bélico que marcó el devenir de España durante gran parte del siglo XX y tuvo que ver mucho también con el proceso vivido en Europa de enfrentamiento entre las dos grandes ideologías totalitarias como fueron el fascismo y el comunismo, así como con los intentos de salvaguardar un estado de derecho democrático que finalmente se instalaría en el continente hasta nuestros días.

L'any 2018 es va decidir organitzar conjuntamenta la nostra ciutat la VII Reunió d’Arqueologia Cristiana Hispànica fent-la coincidir amb el IV Congrés Internacional d'Arqueologia i Món Antic Tarraco Biennal que va tenir lloc a la Universitat Rovira i Virgili al novembre de 2018.

- Finding Solutions to Societal Problems: 2nd International Virtual SBRlab ConferenceTorres-Coronas, Teresa; Belzunegui-Eraso, Angel; Moreno-Gené, JosepSince 2007 and the economic meltdown caused by the financial crisis, the world faces huge challenges. In Europe, the 2017 Eurobarometer highlights some of the European citizens’ concerns. A majority of respondents think that the life of today’s children will be more difficult than the life of those from their own generation. At the same time, reducing inequality and social exclusion, protecting the environment, progress and innovation, harmonizing education and social welfare systems and migration policies are some of the issues Europe should address by 2030. Unfortunately, this is not a perfect world. For that reason new ideas, strategies and interdisciplinary research are needed for overcoming all these problems. Conducting research based on of qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods designs, researchers from a wide range of disciplines have been looking for solutions. Now it is time make a side stop on the way and to gather results. The 2nd International SBRLab Conference, Finding solutions to societal problems, is organized by the Social and Business Research Lab (SBRLab), Universitat Rovira i Virgili. It is as an international and virtual meeting point of interdisciplinary research and researchers. Its main purpose is to bring together researchers from management, economics, political, social and legal disciplines in order to present and discuss new trends in their respective fields.

Regulations are of critical importance in shaping the welfare of economies and society. Thus, core legal disciplines are exploring the effects of the financial crisis on social rights, labour market regulations, and civil, common law or international law, among others.
